SOUNDRAW

Generate and shape instrumental BGM candidates—then audition them in the game.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What SOUNDRAW is—and how it works.

SOUNDRAW is a browser-based AI music tool for instrumental tracks. You choose length, tempo, mood, genre, and theme, audition several candidates, then adjust section intensity, instruments, volume, BPM, and length. It is closer to guided background-music selection and arrangement than to note-by-note composition.

The main product is designed around music for videos, games, and other projects. It exports audio rather than MIDI, and some artist plans add WAV stems for outside mixing. Songs are currently limited to five minutes, so looping, longer structures, loudness, compression, and engine-ready formats remain downstream work.

SOUNDRAW also sells a separate API. Its documented flow lets a server submit a request, poll a request ID, and retrieve an audio URL. The API has its own eligibility, allowances, term, and agreement; Web plan downloads and API songs must not be treated as the same balance or license.

HOW YOU USE IT

Generate and preview in the browser for free; use an applicable paid Web plan to download and license tracks. API access is purchased and contracted separately.

Guided candidate generation

Start from scene-level choices rather than a blank DAW. The interface lowers the starting barrier but does not promise a precise melody or accepted track.

O02U01U02

Section and instrument shaping

Change energy, instruments, volume, tempo, and duration. Stems can support outside mixing on applicable plans; MIDI is not currently offered.

O03O05U04U06

Game and trailer background use

Official help includes game BGM. Soundtrack releases, stock resale, Content ID, client work, and runtime generation have separate conditions.

O07O08O11

Server-side music API

A documented asynchronous request flow can return audio to an external agent or application. Complete authentication, metering, storage, and API-specific rights remain incomplete in public evidence.

REVIEW SCOPE

Instrumental background-music candidates for a game scene or owned trailer, plus the public API path. This review does not cover vocal songs, sound effects, adaptive runtime music, exclusive ownership, or soundtrack distribution approval.

Beginner friendlinessBeginner friendly
A browser user can choose scene-level attributes, audition candidates and adjust sections and instruments without first learning a DAW or composition theory. Precise musical control and final game preparation still require judgment and outside work.
Agent integrationNot yet verified
An official REST workflow documents submission, status polling and audio retrieval, but the complete authentication guide, metering rules and API-specific agreement were not publicly retrievable. Integration ease is therefore not yet rated.
Scope, integration requirements and sourcesChecked

Beginner scope: Create and audition a first non-confidential instrumental BGM candidate for a game scene or owned trailer.

Agent scope: Let an external agent pre-generate an instrumental candidate and retrieve its audio file through SOUNDRAW's API.

Confidence: learning Medium · Agent Low

Access
Use a separately eligible API plan and keep the key on a server. Full account and authentication instructions are supplied after registration rather than fully exposed in the reviewed public pages.
Billing
API Starter and Pro use their own monthly song allowances and terms; Web subscriptions, downloads and stems are separate. Failed-task treatment, overage and the exact song-metering definition remain unknown.
Getting results
Submit a generation request, retain the request ID, poll within a bounded interval, and retrieve the returned audio URL and share link when complete.
Limitations
No official MCP or SDK was confirmed, but their absence is not the reason for the pending grade. Authentication, error handling, retention, rights and production reliability must be clarified before rating ease.

These are independent editorial judgments, not an overall score or a claim of hands-on agent integration testing.

KEY FINDINGS

What the evidence supports—and what it does not.

01
Editorial inferenceMedium confidence

Easy to start does not mean precise composition

Official controls and several user records support a low-friction starting workflow. The same evidence repeatedly separates broad mood and arrangement control from detailed melodic intent.

O02O03U01U04U05U06
02
User reportsMedium confidence

The result belongs in an audition loop

Users report both useful candidates and similarity or missing detail. The responsible workflow is to compare several tracks and judge them against the scene, not to equate one generation with one finished game track.

03
Official factMedium confidence

Game BGM and soundtrack release are different rights questions

Official help supports background use in games, while the licensing summary places additional conditions on standalone music releases, stock resale, and Content ID. A general commercial-use label cannot replace the exact use-case check.

O07O08O11
04
Editorial inferenceLow confidence

The API has a usable shape, but incomplete public conditions

Submit, status polling, and audio retrieval are documented. Full authentication, failure accounting, result retention, and the applicable API agreement were not fully available, so the integration grade stays unverified rather than negative.

EDITORIAL VERDICT

Our take

Medium confidence

SOUNDRAW is a useful beginner-friendly way to find and shape a background-music direction without starting in a DAW. Its best role is candidate generation: audition several tracks, adjust the structure, and judge the result inside the game. It is not a substitute for precise composition, loop preparation, or licensing review. The API is real, but its full integration conditions are not public enough for us to rate agent access as easy yet.

Conclusion scopeMedium-confidence public-evidence assessment. Current audio quality, game acceptance rate, API reliability, and cost per accepted track remain unknown.

BETTER FIT

Worth auditioning when

  • A beginner who needs a first instrumental direction for a menu, exploration scene, or owned trailer.
  • Creators who prefer filtering and section controls over writing a track from scratch.
  • Projects willing to audition several candidates and finish loops, levels, and formats outside the generator.
  • A small eligible developer exploring server-side pre-generation after confirming the API agreement.

POORER FIT

Do not depend on it yet when

  • Writing sung songs or lyrics, editing MIDI, or controlling every note and harmony.
  • Needing an immediately seamless adaptive score or a complete long-form soundtrack.
  • Releasing an unchanged track as a standalone OST, registering Content ID, or reselling stock audio without separate review.
  • Assuming a monthly-billed annual plan can be cancelled like a month-to-month contract.

WORKFLOW FIT

Where it fits in a production workflow.

01

Find a scene direction

Describe the scene through duration, energy, mood, genre, and theme, then audition a small candidate set.

GuardrailWrite the scene need before generating so novelty does not become the selection rule.
02

Shape and compare

Change instruments and section intensity, then compare the candidates at the same playback level and inside the target scene.

GuardrailKeep several options; do not spend the entire allowance polishing the first result.
03

Prepare the accepted file

Export the permitted format, edit the loop and loudness outside SOUNDRAW, then keep the source, plan, download date, and license record with the project.

GuardrailCheck soundtrack, client, redistribution, and runtime uses separately from ordinary in-game BGM.

RECOMMENDED WORKFLOW

Use this tool inside a complete production workflow.

Start from a testable brief, then move through prototyping, assets, audio, testing, and release with an explicit handoff and human check at every step.

Open the complete method

SHORTEST RESPONSIBLE PATH

Start free, pay only after one direction survives the scene.

This is a low-risk starting workflow synthesized from the evidence.

  1. 01

Write one concrete scene brief: length, energy curve, mood, references, and where the loop should turn.

  2. 02

Generate a small set in the browser and discard candidates that do not fit before changing details.

  3. 03

Adjust instruments and sections on the strongest two or three candidates; compare them inside the game or trailer cut.

  4. 04

Before downloading, choose the correct Web or API path and check the exact use, billing term, and export entitlement.

  5. 05

Prepare loops, loudness, format, attribution or records outside the generator, then archive the accepted source and license context.

PRICING & RIGHTS

Free auditioning; paid downloads and a separate API balance

Pricing and terms last checked: Sep 7, 2026

  • Free accounts can generate and audition music, but downloading and licensed project use require an applicable paid plan.
  • The current localized Web price and billing toggle could not be resolved reliably, so this page does not publish an unverified Web monthly figure.
  • API Starter is listed at $29.99 per month for up to 100 songs and is limited to new eligible independent developers or companies with no more than three employees.
  • API Pro is listed at $300 per month for up to 1,000 songs with a minimum six-month commitment, implying a minimum listed commitment of $1,800.
  • Artist plan download counts and stems are Web entitlements; they are not API allowances. Unused allowance, overage, failed-task refunds, and the exact song-metering definition remain unknown.
  • An annual plan collected monthly is still a twelve-month commitment; cancellation may trigger collection of the remaining balance.
COST TO OUTPUT

Convert API allowance into candidate stages—not finished tracks.

Public API list prices checked September 7, 2026. Calculations assume one nominal song per candidate and no retries or other deductions.

O09O10
Starter at full allowance$29.99 ÷ 100 = $0.2999/song

This is an allowance allocation, not a single-song purchase price or an accepted game track.

Pro at full allowance$300 ÷ 1,000 = $0.30/song

The similar unit allocation comes with a much larger volume and a six-month minimum term.

Four-candidate scene roundAbout $1.20 · 25 or 250 rounds

Four nominal songs allocate about $1.20 on either API tier; theoretical monthly rounds are 25 on Starter or 250 on Pro. Editing and accepted output remain unknown.

Actual accepted-track cost equals all relevant subscription or API spend, retries, post-production, and human time divided by accepted tracks. The evidence does not supply that denominator.

Commercial-use condition

Official help permits applicable paid-plan music as game BGM. Standalone soundtrack release, unchanged music-led content, stock resale, Content ID, client transfer, and API/runtime delivery have additional or unresolved conditions. Keep a record of the exact plan and terms used for each download.

Do not infer exclusive ownership or universal clearance from “commercial use.” Confirm the current Schedule or API agreement before a release that goes beyond ordinary background use.

PRODUCTION RISKS

Resolve these before production use.

Candidate similarity and limited precision

Several historical records describe useful starting points alongside repetition or insufficient detail. Preserve alternatives and expect external editing when the musical brief is precise.

U02U03U04U05U06

Loop and engine handoff

A downloaded file is not automatically a seamless game loop. Duration, loop points, loudness, compression, memory, and transition logic remain project work.

O05O06

Billing term confusion

The annual route may collect monthly while retaining the full-year commitment. Read the selected checkout term and cancellation effect before subscribing.

API secrets, storage, and rights

Keep keys on a server and bound polling and spend. Public evidence does not fully establish result-URL retention, failure accounting, or every API redistribution right.

RESEARCH METHOD

Research-reviewed from public evidence

We coded seven concrete independent records across Reddit, KVR, and Trustpilot, spanning community forums and a review platform. Vendor testimonials, ratings without a task, search snippets, and an unexecuted community MCP repository were excluded from the independent count. The record supports a bounded workflow assessment, not a current audio-quality consensus.

Research windowReviewed September 7, 2026. Seven independent records span 2023–2026; only two have clearly dated experience inside the latest twelve months, so current game and API adoption remains thin.
