Ludo adds Hydra+ detail processing for 2D sprite animations
The October 13 update adds a detail pass at four credits per second. Existing Hydra animations can receive Improve Details separately, with the original result preserved.

For refining the appearance of character animations whose movement already fits the project.
Ludo introduced Hydra+ on October 13, adding a detail pass to its 2D sprite animations. The company says it retains Hydra's movement and timing while improving fine features. Existing Hydra animations can receive the same treatment separately.
Apply Improve Details to an existing animation
Choose Improve Details on a Hydra animation card. No new prompt is needed, and the result becomes a separate animation, leaving the original available. Ludo puts the action among the main buttons when it detects lost detail; otherwise, it remains in the card menu.
Only Hydra animations that have not already been improved are eligible. Hydra+ results and animations from other models cannot receive another pass through this action.
Four credits per second for Hydra+
Hydra+ is available in Animate, Keyframe Animation and New Direction. It includes synchronized audio and takes longer to generate than Hydra. The announced rate is four credits per second, making a three-to-five-second animation cost 12–20 credits.
Improve Details adds one credit per second to an existing Hydra animation. Combined with Hydra's three-credit generation rate, the unit cost matches Hydra+. Developers can select the movements they want to keep before paying for detail processing. The action shows its cost before use.
Ludo's knight example highlights changes to the eye and engraved armor. The guide still flags small lettering, intricate patterns and seamless loops as potential trouble spots. Check the animation at its intended size and alongside the rest of the character's moveset.
