PRODUCT UPDATE / Sprite and pixel-art production

Voidless 6.2 adds Sprite Clean-Up, with one free run a day

Upload an existing sprite or a 1–5 second clip to remove background leftovers and fix pixel art. Videos return as 16 frames; downloads require a free account, and daily free quotas are limited.

Who should pay attention

For developers preparing sprites from other AI tools before engine import.

Voidless released version 6.2.0 on October 21, adding a standalone Sprite Clean-Up tool for existing images and short animations, including assets made elsewhere. The release notes describe removing background leftovers and stray pixels, and aligning pixel art to a grid before engine import.

Upload an image or a clip of up to five seconds

The tool accepts PNG, JPG and WebP sprites, or MP4, WebM and MOV clips lasting 1–5 seconds, up to 25 MB. Choose pixel art or smooth art, the output size and, for a video, whether it loops.

Videos return as 16 frames, with square transparent canvases and an aligned ground line. Export options include PNG, individual frames, a four-column sprite sheet, GIF and ZIP. Running the cleanup and viewing the comparison require no account; downloading requires free sign-in, which preserves the result.

Inspect effects as well as the character edge

Voidless says its smooth-art cleanup checks detached pieces to retain sparks and leaves while removing smudges. Its generation-pipeline illustrations show fireballs and other details that basic background removal can lose. These examples use separate generations, so poses vary.

The pixel-art pipeline addresses stray colours and outline gaps while keeping a shared palette and grid. The vendor's example marks the pixels it changes in purple. Check a cleaned animation frame by frame for missing details or flickering before importing it into a project.

One free daily run; ten with Voidless+

The web tool gives everyone one free cleanup daily, including signed-out visitors. Voidless+ receives ten. After that, each image costs one credit and each video two credits.

The release also adds cleanup from Claude and ChatGPT. That route uses the MCP connector, which requires Voidless+. The new standalone upload tool is separate from the project image editing and GIF downloads introduced in version 6.0.
