Unity announces Spark, a browser AI game creator with a closed beta still to come
Spark combines a web editor with artist-created Asset Store content. Unity has shared four demo games and opened a waitlist; Google Playground integration is planned for later this year.

For creators exploring game ideas without prior Unity or coding experience; creation access is still pending.
Unity announced Unity Spark on October 7, a browser-based AI game creation tool built around describing an idea and refining it in a web editor. It targets people without Unity or game development experience and connects to artist-created content in the Unity Asset Store.
As of October 13, Spark's website still lists it as coming soon, with a waitlist. Google also says Spark is in testing, with a closed beta still to come. The demonstration games do not mean the creation tool is open to everyone.
A web editor and artist-created assets
The Spark product page describes a workflow of prompting, refining a game in an editor, and publishing it for others to play. In his announcement, Unity CEO Matt Bromberg emphasizes continued iteration and polish, and says Spark connects directly to thousands of assets made by the Asset Store community.
The design brings art assets into the browser creation workflow alongside the game idea. It is aimed at creators who want to explore gameplay but lack coding experience. The announcement does not promise that every asset is free, or detail full project export and commercial-release terms.
Demo games now, creation access later
Unity's site lists four Spark examples with play links: sci-fi shooter Space Corridor, haunted-house game Horror story, forest adventure RPG Emberwell, and colorful obstacle racer Robot Race. These are Unity's selected examples, without a promise that every creator can produce the same level of finish in a single attempt.
Spark is also part of the Google–Unity partnership. The companies plan to integrate it with Google Playground later this year, adding 3D creation capabilities based on the Unity runtime. That integration remains a future step.
Playground has a separate rollout. Google's October 7 announcement limits its launch to U.S. users aged 18 and over, with tiered creation access rolling out according to Google AI subscriptions. For Spark itself, the current entry point is its waitlist.
