A playable, tightly scoped mystery gives context to Horii’s 30-minute claim.

Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii shared a free browser mystery, Interrogation Room Komiya (取調室の小宮), on October 11, 2026. He says he made it with AI in about 30 minutes. Published as a Claude Artifact, the game gives that claim a concrete setting: an interrogation room, a suspect and a set of conflicting statements to untangle.

In his announcement, Horii recalled making The Portopia Serial Murder Case alone, handling its story, artwork and programming. He expressed surprise at how much he could now make by directing AI. VGC’s report reproduces his estimate of the new game’s production time.

A pawnshop theft and a suspect who can refuse to talk

You play a detective questioning Komiya, a 72-year-old former locksmith suspected in a pawnshop safe robbery. His account contains lies. The task is to identify contradictions and confront him with the appropriate evidence.

The interface gives you a limited number of actions and two meters: agitation and resistance. Raising agitation can make Komiya more likely to crack, while resistance reaching 100 makes him stop answering. As Famitsu describes, the final evaluation changes with the lies you expose. Question selection and the order in which you present evidence therefore matter alongside reading the dialogue.

Where to play Interrogation Room Komiya

The public game link opens on Claude’s website. It is a free browser release, with a Japanese interface. The case file introduces the incident; the main screen separates questions, evidence, attitude and the interrogation record. Players looking for an English edition should be aware that the linked release is in Japanese.

The game is hosted on Claude Artifacts. Horii has not disclosed the exact model, prompts or revision history, or said whether gameplay itself makes live AI calls to generate the suspect’s replies.

What Horii’s “about 30 minutes” establishes

That number is Horii’s estimate for this small game, with no breakdown of prior planning time. The published screens and gameplay descriptions show a focused design: one interrogation room, text, evidence and two state meters. Its scope is far smaller than a commercial RPG’s.

For developers exploring AI game creation or playable prototypes, Komiya offers a small set of interacting systems to examine. Questions advance the investigation, evidence challenges the testimony, and agitation and resistance constrain how hard the player can push. Together, those rules give a story idea a playable structure within a single scene.
